GRUMPY AS HELL

Cornelia Cornelius wasn’t exactly popular in their community. She was, what her neighbours described her, a woman grumpy as hell, for even though the community has its share of grumpy people, no one could be grumpier than her.

Ask her a question, and you’ll be sure a get a grumpy answer.

Talk to her and you’ll be sure to get a grumpy treatment.

Her smile was always upside down and her forehead forever creased. Those who knew her always avoid her or steer clear of her path. Whenever she goes to the convenience store in their place to do a bit of shopping, you’ll find that the person queuing next to her is at least a foot away.

Her office mates never venture inside her cubicle except for compelling reasons.

One day, she came home grumpier than usual because the traffic was so slow and impatient drivers kept honking their cars so loud she feared her eardrums might burst. She was also thinking of a note she found on her desk. It read:

Your grumpiness is causing distress to others!
For goodness' sake!
Get a man or a dog or someone you'll care about!
That way you might stop being so grumpy!

It wasn’t signed.

She didn’t mean to cause distress. She only wanted to be left alone.
